Work that Counts
With a bright smile and an infectious laugh, Joy Radio’s chief bookkeeper keeps business moving.
“I perform daily banking deposits, pay the bills, send out invoices, evaluate financial performance, fulfill payment requests from team members, and I support the General Manager by providing financial reports,” Stacy Williams explains.
Hailing from The Lone Star State, Stacy says she’ll forever consider herself a Texan at heart, but she has a heart for Tennessee, too – especially Joy Radio! Before joining our team, Stacy was a long-time listener. That’s how she learned there was a job opening and a calling that had her name on it.
“I heard a radio ad for a financial manager and bookkeeper position,” Stacy says. “I applied, and I’m so glad I did!”
Taking Care of Business
With a degree and background in finance and banking, Stacy has a strong relationship with numbers. Her focus on financial performance through profit and loss statements led to skills in improving profitability, a truly valuable skill in any business.
“In Texas, I worked for a large multi-family builder and real estate management company, multiple banks and holding companies, and independently as an advisor to small businesses,” Stacy says. “In Tennessee, I operated an estate sale company.”
Growing in Grace
As a child, Stacy says she understood what Jesus did for her when he died on the cross for her sins, but it wasn’t until the age of 17 that she had the courage to make a public profession of faith.
In her late 20’s, she fully grasped that Jesus should not only be her Savior, but her LORD, as well. Stacy’s faith story was punctuated three years ago when she stepped into the waters of believer’s baptism.
“I got baptized in the Tennessee River as an outward statement and evidence of my deepening walk of faith,” Stacy says, defining it as a recommitment to live each day submitted to Christ.
When asked if she has a favorite Bible verse, Stacy responds with, “Too many to list just one!” But after giving it some thought, one particular passage comes to mind, reflecting the way her faith has carried her through even the most difficult seasons:
Though a thousand fall at my side, though ten thousand are dying around me, the evil will not touch me. I will see how the wicked are punished, but I will not share it. For Jehovah is my refuge! I choose the God above all gods to shelter me. – Psalm 91:7-9 (TLB)
Committed to the Word
When Stacy isn’t busy managing numbers for Joy Radio, she has fun with fashion and thrifting, digs into genealogy, and loves settling in for the night to watch classic Hollywood movies (she notes that her favorites are John Wayne, Audie Murphy, and Randolph Scott).
She has also made a commitment to read the entire Bible every year, which she says has changed her life.
“Based upon that simple fact, I would encourage our listeners to support any ministry that gets Bibles into the hands of anyone who wants a Bible of their own,” Stacy says emphatically, “Support ministries like the Gideons, Voice of the Martyrs, Bible League so that His Word, the very voice of God, is heard around the world!”
