YWCA - Youth Engagement
About the Ministry
YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley offers comprehensive youth engagement through after-school enrichment for middle schoolers (ASEP), an 8-week summer camp (SKIPP) for ages 5–14, and the “Reach” internship program for ages 14–18. These programs focus on academic support, leadership, healthy decision-making, and violence prevention.
These programs aim to foster a safe environment, promote healthy decision-making, and encourage civic involvement.
How You Can Partner with YWCA
Get Invovled
- Recurring Individual Volunteers: Ready to jump right in? We’d love to have you join us! Volunteers seeking to serve more than once are required to complete our application process which includes a criminal background check, reference checks, and a one-time orientation. This process ensures the safety of the clients we serve and is mandatory. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to volunteer long-term and make a significant impact in our community.
- Single Service Opportunity: Have a busy schedule? Join us for a one-time opportunity! This is a great way to fulfill service hours or learn more about the YWCA before committing to a recurring volunteer opportunity. Many of our long-time volunteers started out with a single service opportunity!
- Group or Corporate Volunteers: Are you a member of a service organization, church, company, or other group that is looking to serve our community? YWCA has a project for you! Groups are perfect for large-scale projects and making a big impact in a short amount of time, while building relationships within your team.
