8 Ways to Pray for Students

Pray that they will grow in the faith and learn to turn to God for wisdom and direction.
Proverbs 3:5–6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…”
Pray for courage to live out what they believe, even when it isn’t easy.
Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel…”
Pray for good friends and healthy relationships with people who encourage them and help them make wise choices.
Proverbs 13:20: “Walk with the wise and become wise…”
Pray for wisdom and discernment as they sort through the many messages and influences competing for their attention.
James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God…”
Pray for students who are lonely, worried, discouraged or struggling to fit in, and for someone to notice when they need a friend.
Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted…”
Pray for teachers, coaches, administrators and school staff who influence students every day.
Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart…”
Pray for safety and protection at school, at activities, online and wherever their days take them.
Psalm 121:7–8: “The Lord will watch over your coming and going…”
Pray that Christian students will realize they don’t have to wait until they’re adults to serve God. They can show kindness, serve others, encourage a friend and share the hope they have in Christ right where they are.
