About the Ministry

YOKE impacts middle school students by equipping passionate, faithful mentors to help those students discover their identity and purpose in Christ. Founded in Knoxville in 1977, YOKE now has relationships with 31 schools across Knox, Anderson, Blount, Loudon, Jefferson, and Grainger Counties.

YOKE helps transform communities through four primary areas of impact: mentoring middle school students, equipping young leaders, engaging local churches, and enriching local schools. We are committed to equipping and empowering the next generation of servant leaders.

How You Can Partner with Yoke Ministries

Volunteer with YOKE

How does YOKE serve 31 middle schools in six counties? More than 200 volunteer mentors, or as we call them YOKE Folk, walk into area middle schools each week for YOKE. YOKE Folk is the ONLY way YOKE is able to serve so many students!

Yoke Folk: This is the core group of volunteer leaders at each school. They build mentoring relationships with middle school students. Each week, our YOKE Folk lead an after-school club and are involved in Kid Time. Once a semester, YOKE Folk attend a weekend camp with the students from their club.

Support: Want to get involved but not sure what role you want to play? Want to do something other than become YOKE Folk or a team leader? Great!
