Don’t you just love the prospect of new life? 

Jesus said in John 10:10, The thief comes to but steal, kill, and destroy.  But Jesus said that I come so that they may have life and live more abundantly.  The prospect of new life never gets old.  Recently the Bell Family celebrated the addition of another grandson.  My daughter and son-in-law, brought in a new, beautiful 9 lb. 7oz boy home from the hospital.  By the way he was 23 inches long.  Health care works at the hospital joked that we really didn’t have a baby, we had a toddler.  He is already learning to eat, smile, voice his displeasure, and sleep peacefully.  God’s miracle is on full display.  It never gets old. 

My pastor also has welcomed in a new grandchild, a girl.  He and his wife are experiencing their first taste of being a grandparent.  They are “over the moon.” They have discovered the joy of being young grandparents who know that the babies parents will raise the child in the nourishment and abolition of the Lord, according to Ephesians 6:4.  They experiencing the same joy, Meg and I have in welcoming our first grandson, nearly 18 months ago.  We know that his parents, are raising him to love Jesus.  They are passing on a spiritual heritage that bring wonderful, eternal consequences. 

Many years ago, one beer commercial ended by saying, “It doesn’t’ get better than this.”  I respectfully disagree… it does get better.  When you see your kids, raise their kids to follow Christ.  Do you see how important the family is?  The enemy continues to do everything in his power to attack the nuclear family.  Family is the best place for discipleship and passing on a spiritual heritage.  Men and woman, please guard your heart and hold fast to the word of God.  Psalm 119:11 says I have hidden your word in my heart that I may not sin against you. 

Help your children and your grandchildren hide God’s word in their heart.  And let’s agree to be faithful to Him in these last days.
