Bob Bell Blog for 12/7/18

It is that time to gather with family and other friends we don’t see that often.  It is that time that we reflect on the last 12 months.  It is that time that we take stock on where our life is.  It is that time for setting goals.  It is that time to think about new ideas for the coming year.  But really, I like to think of this time of year as the worship season.  What has God done for us?  How does He show his love for us?  How did He impart His Truth to us?  I call it the worship season because, it is a great time to refocus our worship to the only one who is worthy of it.  Even when there are so many people around, it is still a good time to get off by yourself and just pray.  Maybe this time you don’t come to God with an agenda or a huge list.  (After all, lists are for some other guy.) Maybe it’s a time to listen to some of your favorite music while you listen for God’s voice. Or how about this… total silence for a long period of time.  Whatever you do, make this season the worship season.  We have had the reason for a long time. 

John 1:14, The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Now that is Christmas!
